DIED. ELIZABETH GLASER, 47, tireless activist for pediatric AIDS; of complications from AIDS; in Santa Monica, California. The wife of actor Paul Michael Glaser, she was infected by the virus in 1981 after receiving a blood transfusion during pregnancy. Her daughter Ariel died of AIDS in 1988; her son Jake, 10, has tested positive for the virus. At the 1992 Democratic Convention, Glaser was a poignant symbol of the struggle against the plague. "I am here tonight," she said from the podium, "because my son and I may not survive another four years of leaders who say they care--but do nothing."
